Integrated Communication
From papyrus, messenger pigeons, pony express, telegraph, telephone, and finally internet and text messages, the world is built upon communication. The world is becoming increasingly interdependent, and the importance of communication has never been as evident as during the most recent pandemic. Whether for work or play, interconnectedness plays a tremendous role in our lives today.
The following selections of work show examples of communication through different mediums, as well as the uses of communication within the arena of education. The ideas presented here are only a few of the possibilities for technology-centered communication but are viable options for teachers and professionals to exercise daily.
Professional Communication
This artifact represents integrated communication by demonstrating how a visual representation can be used to convey a plan or proposal in a way that catches the attention of decision-makers. Visual representations are known to be effective in conveying ideas, especially for individuals who do not have time to read a long report, or who face reading difficulties. I have chosen to include this presentation because it shows my ability to communicate ideas using a visual presentation.
This is the written PDF proposal that accompanies the above slideshow.

Digital Media Use to Attract Attention
This is the "elevator speech", (a quick introduction) that I created to promote a fictional school library. This artifact demonstrates the use of digital video to communicate with others within an organization, and with a massive worldwide community. I chose to include it in this section of my digital portfolio for its digital format and also to showcase my ability to quickly communicate the features and benefirs of my library program.
Creating Custom Communication
I have chosen these artifacts to reflect my use of technology tools to create integrated communication. I have used Canva in conjunction with the district LMS (Learning Management System) to create and deliver visually appealing informative graphics. These digital creations are well-suited for communication with students, parents, and teachers, and can be created and edited quickly. Below are a few examples of weekly schedules that I have used successfully in my own classroom, which is why I have chosen to include them in my portfolio.
